A morning of thatched roofs sunk in snow

Woke up to a world of snow. Gokayama isn't as crowded as Shirakawa-go, which makes it easy to walk the village quietly. Gassho-zukuri roofs under heavy snow have more presence in person than any photo suggests. My fingers went numb in the cold, but I still couldn't put the camera away.
